Evilo is a NY based artist and DJ inspired by being on the dance floor, their friends, the ny dj and rave scene, moving, dancing, and merely existing.

"This set is inspired by walks home with headphones on. Walking around the city in different states of mind, going on autopilot, letting thoughts wander wherever, and walking fast. :)  I've been loving the juxtaposition of loud aggressive music blasting in my ears to the relative quietness of the city around me and the satisfying contrast of hard hitting trance and techno with soft emotionally driven melodies. enjoyyyyyyyy ☆(◒‿◒)☆"

“Welcome to the session of sexuality and romance with Anıl”

        me, Anıl Ayhan’s photographic life started from drawing. for as long as I can remember, I have always drawn, painted, tried to create something different from my peers. naked bodies, faces, especially eyes were my best friends on this road. (plus rainbows, not even knowing what it’s going to mean :) )

       overtime, I found myself taking pictures of the people around me or being the person in the group who was forced to be the photographer:) just before I moved to Berlin, I signed up for a photography course in İstanbul and it was the first official step of my art, except for the painting competitions I won:)

      as an artist, I feel like İstanbul. a lit bit of everything, opposites go hand in hand, without an absolute sense of beauty.

      I always love to combine two oppositions. hard with soft. masculine with feminine. sexy with romantic. because they are much more meaningful and beautiful when they are together. it is with this mixture of thoughts and visuals that I can tell a story of deeper meaning.

         I love my people that I created with these ideas. the meeting of our energies in harmony reveals the sides of them that they are not even aware of and BAM!!!

        here is the true beauty of that combination of extremities and I am in love with it!

We publish ANY type of media as long as it's related to club culture in some way. We are a narrative-driven platform which means we're extra intrigued by a good story behind whatever kind of content you wish to collaborate with.

PLEASE NOTE: If you're a DJ and want to submit a mix, this is NOT the right channel. We're not accepting mix submissions atm (if you're a DJ and want to collaborate in some other way, we're all ears tho).

Everything published via our channels is original content, meaning, that it hasn't been previously published on other platforms. You obviously own your creations and we hope you'll promote it in your channels, but the content you submit needs to be unpublished before we put it live.

PLEASE NOTE: We unfortunately don't have the means to reimburse anyone financially for their work, time and effort. We're a non-commercial platform and we don't have any funding. It fucking sucks but it's how it is!

Our platform is made by and for queers. We’re radical and inclusive, fighting the oppressive practices that historically have been (and still are) exercised against us. Practically, this means that we collaborate with everyone (well OK, not with nazis) BUT that we systematically give priority to the LGBTQIA+ community, BIPOC, and other underrepresented groups.

"With this piece, I wanted to show queer rave life with my aesthetic.
When I go out to dance, it's about letting go of the energy you have and for queer people, it is often hard to find safe spaces to express that in.
I was very excited to create this due to the amazing artists within Bleak Narrative! 
Music and safe spaces like Bleak give people the chance to be completely themselves and that is beautiful.
A big element of my art is to protest negativity amongst the art world and to promote positivity in my own way.

"You were just gonna go for a lil' afterwork on Thursday and suddenly someone talks about a lil' party somewhere, which you decide to check out just for a short while. Suddenly you're home again after two days and wondering wtf happened. Well, now it's Saturday night again and your friend is calling to tell you about a lil' rave, so you might just have a lil' glass and try to get into it again, and we know what that will lead to :)

This lil' story is a trip down memory lane, but it's all coming back to us now, summer came and the city that was in silence for a year is finally slowly opening up again."

I'm Allis, an emotional rollercoaster expressing my feelings through my comics. And I'm also a Swedish girl living in Berlin working as an illustrator and graphic designer.

I’m a Croatian expat with a thick accent. Some people find it funny and others sexy. With an affinity towards storytelling, character design and internet culture, I produce graphic design, illustrations, animation and everything in between. Trying daily to find a balance between office life and my moonlighting projects. My big wish is to one day make a series of plush toys and incense burners.

The foundation for these illustrations are drawn together from tracks I love and admire. Each illustrations aims to communicate a unique feeling. I try to depict what I felt towards the artist and their work, what I 'see' in their tracks; their 'colour' and 'shapes', their mood and characteristics.

Merging these elements together to deliver a visual translation of a track through portraits of the artist, is what I hope to achieve.

It still feels like yesterday that I fought through the tall grass and the mud, following the faint music echoing in the air, trailing towards the flickering neon lights in the distance. I thought to myself: ‘this seems shit.’ But how wrong was I. It was the first time I went to a proper rave; the air was full of uncertainty & anxiousness. Raving was such an unfamiliar world. However, by the end of the night, the experience had significantly changed me.

It was that moment in the early morning. As the sun rose, I closed my eyes. Stopped dancing, stopped listening, stopped thinking, and started feeling. The feeling of unity; of the people, the music, and the atmosphere. It was magical.

Seeking for such unity has become a major part of my life. Through mixing I am able to explore, create and express a story using the emotions which are embedded within the tracks. Through illustration, I could create a visual representation of the feelings which I experience from the tracks. For me, in a way, the mixing and the illustrations are both part of a multisensory design which I am attempting to conduct.

To design is to create, to curate, to express the designer’s perception of the world. For me, the world has always been colourful, vivid and filled with extremely complex emotions; the world is neither strictly tangible nor intangible, it has always existed in this surreal dreamy state.

This world is full of sounds. I see sound as the proof of this world’s existence, for when each molecule clashes into one another, they make a tiny tiny ‘base note’. Sound is the product of energy transferring from particle to particle, object to object, human to human. Music is a formulated energy constructed by humans, it is one of the purest forms of expression; a melody can lighten the mood, a bass note weighs tons. It was only once I went to my first ever rave that I was able to truly understand that the world I try to depict as a designer is not just a two-dimensional experience for the eyes, but something more.

Each track I hear has a tale to tell. Listening to these tracks on repeat allows me to understand them, so that I can document the energy and feelings that these tracks ignite in me. Some are sad, some can be hopeful, others can be fearsome, and so I try to document the feelings I experience in order to materialise the intangible elements of the world from my perception, and have a firmer understanding of how a track is able to influence the energy in the room, the atmosphere and the emotions of the dancers. The illustrations and the sets I create reflect fragments of my thoughts uncovered along the explorative journey of multi-sensory design, the goal of which I am yet to fully comprehend.

Julieth is a Brazilian gal who's been around: she's a traveler, illustrator, piano player, law student, party-goer (at least back in the day), and an amazing human being overall. She was kind enough to do some art specifically for Bleak. Scroll down for some watercolor realness.

"For me, clubbing is both an individual and a social activity. Social in the sense that well, we can go with friends and, even if we don't, we are bound to encounter a multitude of people. They are there, in the same place as you are, probably aiming for the same sensations, but - and here's where it gets personal - each and everyone get to have an experience of their own. Each of us relates to music, and will relate to that music at that club in a particular manner, which is incommunicable and unique. The feelings that that sound produces in you are yours alone, even though you are in a social situation. But knowing that you are not the only one that wants to connect to that music, even if the connection itself is so particular, is what it makes a community."

I've been told I should channel my lockdown experience into an artistic project that expresses how I feel, so that's what this page is. I found photos that my dumb high af ass took at variious illegal raves over the past two years, stuck a vintage filter on them and uploaded them here. I feel better already =D

One random night at SchwuZ, a famous gay club in Berlin, I took a toilet break and found myself in a stall with the words "I am a mess too" written on the wall. It was probably well past 4 am, and the party was still going strong. Whenever I go out solo, which is more often than not, I tend to observe my surroundings more attentively and really understand the environment and people around me. I always read club-toilet-"art", as it amuses me so much. I've seen everything from phone numbers, sex ads, party flyers to political messages. But this one that I spotted at SchwuZ (which isn't even considered one of the "good" clubs in Berlin - they have a pop music floor) resonated with me on a deeper level. I had to take a picture. Now, I'm all for a "no-photos" policy (which is not the case at SchwuZ), but I like respecting this rule even if it's not explicitly demanded by the club. Not using your phone at parties in Berlin is the norm, which seriously affects the place's vibe. For this quick and random "exhibition", I selected some pictures I've taken over my years of wandering and clubbing. I discreetly took these without showing any faces in the photos, as they're always blurred or only show part of the buildings. I took these for nostalgic reasons, and I'm glad they serve a purpose now.
